My name is Christine Bolden. As a self-taught artist, I launched seagnals.com in the winter of 2019 for individuals who share the same passion for the ocean. I turn to art as a way to study, examine, and reconcile notions of how and why we treat it the way we do.
I have a Computer Science degree, am an avid scuba diver and art lover. As a mom of zero biological kids, my nieces are my world. My husband is my light and rock, who encouraged me to explore the underwater world in the first place. I came from halfway across the globe, a water soul from the Philippines to the United States. I lived most of my IT career in New York City, now I’m slowing down the pace in Florida.
There is uniqueness in each of us, as there is in every wonderful sea creature. As I navigate through this journey, I rely on experiences and use them as raw materials for my style and subjects. Is it the beauty that I behold or the lingering questions that permeate into my work? I say both.
With vacillating voices of defeat and hope in my mind, no time is more fitting than right now. There is power in art to heal and guide us to be in harmony with the sea and one another. The ocean can find its way back to us if we let it.
Thank you for gracing me with your interest and support.
"OCEAN THINK collection represents my thoughts of how I once was in the sea. Diving underwater or simply spending a day at the beach gave me that joy of being one with everything. My ocean explorations opened up a new kind of awareness, gave me reasons to paint again and share my treasured pieces with you."
